Conservatives Deliver for Lincolnshire as Reform Turns Its Back on Rural Communities

Prime Minister Agrees with Lincolnshire Conservatives: Local Tories Stand Up for Every Community, Reform Walk Away from Rural Lincolnshire

Following our continued campaigning, both the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, and the MP for Lincoln have confirmed that RAF Scampton will not be used for asylum accommodation.

This is a significant victory for Lincolnshire and the people of Lincoln. Our message has been consistent from the start: Scampton must be protected for heritage, jobs and investment – not turned into a mass accommodation site.

Cllr Richard Davies, Leader of the Conservative Group on Lincolnshire County Council, said, “This is a huge win for Lincolnshire. From the start, Lincolnshire Conservatives have stood firm that RAF Scampton must be protected for heritage, investment and jobs – not used as a mass asylum centre. I’m pleased the Prime Minister and Lincoln’s MP have listened and confirmed it won’t go ahead. But questions remain about other bases, and unlike Reform, which chose to focus only on urban areas, we’ll keep fighting to protect every part of Lincolnshire – rural and urban alike.”
