Charlotte Vernon – Colsterworth Rural.

Having been the County Councillor for the Colsterworth Rural division since 2022, I have worked hard to represent the villages that I was elected to serve. 

Our division covers over 25 villages from Carlby in the South of the division to Harlaxton in the North which is a large area. I regularly attend Parish Council meetings across the division and have built strong relationships with Parish Councils, our local MP’s, our Police and Crime Commissioner and my District Council colleagues to deliver the best for residents. 

Living and working in the Colsterworth Rural division means I see and experience firsthand the issues raised by the community and I remain committed to ensuring our voices continue to be heard at County. 

At County Hall, I have been a strong voice for our area, sitting on the Highways and Transport Scrutiny Committee and I was also elected to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Planning and Regulation Committee. In our full council meetings,

I have continually raised the issue of the A1 and recognise the impact that an accident or closure has on our rural communities. I know that some junction closures are now planned, but this cannot be the end of the campaign to secure improvements that will improve the safety of the A1. If elected, I pledge to continue to raise this issue, both at County level, and with our MP’s to secure further improvements,  

Whilst out on the doorstep across our wonderful part of Lincolnshire, I have spoken to many residents about their concerns relating to large scale solar farms and the concerns about overdevelopment of our villages.  If elected, I will continue to stand up for our rural way of life and ensure that any development is appropriate, and brings with it the infrastructure that is needed. 

Being your elected County Councillor has been a huge privilege, and I would like to now ask for your support again as I seek to be re-elected so that I can continue to get things done for Colsterworth Rural.
