Conservative county councillor for Alford and Sutton, Colin Matthews, has helped bring forward the Sutton on Sea Community Larder scheme. The Sutton on Sea community came together before Christmas to offer a festive treat box to those in need.

The scheme was spearheaded by the Sutton on Sea Community Larder, with particular thanks going to Steff Moon and Helen Matthews.

Just two days before Christmas, dozens of ‘Rudolph Boxes’ and ‘Bags of Christmas Cheer’ were delivered to those who needed them.

The Rudolph Boxes were full of festive treats kindly donated by the local community, and topped up with local vegetables from The Veg Shed, plus a Yorkshire chicken and pigs-in-blankets courtesy of Woldsway Meat near Spilsby.

The Sutton on Sea Community Larder / Foodbank is now up and running from their base in St Clement’s Church Hall (behind the church with the leaning tower). The scheme is linking with the Mablethorpe Baby Bank so can also offer baby milk, food, wipes etc.
