Work is underway to create a step-free bridge over the River Welland and maintain the area as a bridleway.

Lincolnshire County Council is replacing the bridge at Hudds Mill in Stamford.

A spokesman said not only would the work be good for those with mobility issues but the bridge would replace a ford, which is now unpassable, to maintain the area as a bridleway.

The work is expected to be complete in about four weeks, weather permitting, and represents an investment of £58,000.
